The Midi is a nine by nine crossword with around two dozen clues: a real grid with room for longer answers, but one you can finish in a short break. It sits between the five minute mini and the full daily crossword. A new one appears every day.
Tips
- Start with the clues you are sure of, wherever they are, and let the crossings spread from there.
- The longest answers usually run through the middle. Two or three crossing letters are often enough to see them.
- Watch the tense and number in each clue. A clue ending in "-ed" or asking for "ones" tells you how the answer ends.
- Tap a clue in the list to jump straight to it, and tap a square again to switch direction.
- Use Check before Reveal. It marks the wrong letters and keeps the solve yours.

- How big is the Midi crossword?
- Nine squares by nine, with around two dozen clues. Most people finish in five to fifteen minutes.
- Is it the same puzzle for everyone?
- Yes. A new grid appears at midnight, the same for every player, with a leaderboard for times.
- Does Reveal count?
- Reveal fills in a square for you, but a solve that used it stays off the leaderboard.
